I am so scared for my community. They have very worrisome co-morbid conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and black skin. I would say I am surprised but am rarely surprised. Today I had to comfort my cousin, who lost an uncle and another cousin who lost a grandparent. Yesterday, I comforted my best friend who lost his pastor. I haven’t yet characterized the impact COVID is having on my community, I’ll probably wait till the dust settles.
