In the park the other day the chalk art was of hand sanitizer bottles

my little girl reached out to the other children as they passed her

six feet away

shepharded by parents with apologies in their eyes and circles under them

my baby waves and whispers “hi” in her soft sweet voice

shepherded by parents with apologies in their eyes and circles under them, her playmates
